In order to effectively combat international terrorism, government authorities need to understand the process of
recruitment to violent Islamist or jihadist movements. In this report, the Transnational Radical Islamism Project at FFI
presents five working papers, which explore from different perspectives how and why young Muslims are recruited to
jihadist networks. The present studies were first presented at an FFI seminar at Oslo Militære Samfund (OMS), 15
March 2006.
